A 13-year old boy is facing unspecified charges in Perkins Township, Ohio after he shot and killed an 8-year old boy.  The Assistant Police Chief for Perkins County called it “a tragedy for the family and for the entire community. You don’t see things like this every day.”

The incident occurred in the home of the 8-year old’s grandmother. According to the report, the shooting was an accident.

The assistant chief reminded everyone to make sure that their guns are locked up safely at all times.  “Our hearts go out to the family and the community, and hopefully we can prevent another tragedy like this by educating the community on gun awareness and being safe.”
